Application schedule

How to apply

Application:
1 November – 15 December 2012

Request for degree conferral

The Master’s degree is awarded when a total of 120 credits, in accordance with the regulations for the major chosen and the programme regulations (cf. study guide section 2.2), is reached. Students should then apply to the students administration office of D-UWIS for the conferral of the Master’s diploma.

Final academic record, degree and academic title

Graduates also receive a final academic record. While interim academic records contain any evaluated study performance, in the final academic record only courses and performance assessments indicated in the application are listed. Upon request by the student, further performance evaluations can be listed on an addendum to the final academic record.

The grade point average on the final academic record is calculated as the weighted mean of the grades listed in the application. The weighting corresponds to the credit points allocated to each course. The grade for the Master thesis is weighted as 30.

With the final academic record, graduated students will receive a Master certificate and a diploma supplement. The diploma supplement gives a short description of all courses
attended during the Master’s programme, also showing the awarded credits

The recipient of the Master degree is authorised to use the following academic title:
Master of Science ETH in Environmental Sciences (Abbreviation: MSc ETH Environ. Sc.).

The major is also mentioned on the Master certificate. Minors are listed in the final academic record.
