Jonas is a Senior Scientist in the Climate Policy and Sustainable Agroecosystems groups. He has his background and training from the field of environmental management and disaster risk management. His research focuses on understanding social and system challenges associated with dealing of various types of shocks (e.g. climate risks, socio-economic and political risks). He is involved in several research projects where he applies the concept of resilience on communities, organisations and food systems. His work is interdisciplinary; he is collaborating with partners from different disciplines, and quite often transdisciplinary, as he has great interest to translate research findings into action. He has conducted research in the following countries: Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Japan, Malaysia, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
