Forestry Collection
The small exhibition in the CHN Building contains forest zoology exhibits that are well representative of local small mammals and bird species. These are joined by exhibits on wild-animal pathology, a collection of animal skulls, cap mushrooms made of ceramic materials and fruiting bodies of wood-dwelling fungi.
The former Institute of Wood Science's xylotheque is only accessible to researchers upon request. The non-European tree species, some of which are extremely rare or extinct today, make this collection an important source of information, including in wood restoration, monument conservation and customs-related species identification (protection of tropical forests).
