Bachelor in Environmental Sciences

The courses offer theoretical and methodological knowledge and introduce application areas. In addition to the natural sciences, there are also social sciences, humanities and technical subjects.

Structure of Education

1st to 4th semester

In the first two years of the Bachelor's degree programme, students learn the basics of chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, earth sciences and computer science, together with an introduction to environmental law and economics. The lectures and practical courses are complemented by a case study.


5th to 6th semester

In the third and last year of the Bachelor's programme, students can choose from a variety of specialisations:

  • Atmosphere and Climate
  • Biogeochemistry
  • Environmental biology
  • Forest and Landscape
  • Human-Environment-Systems

A Bachelor's thesis concludes the Bachelor's degree.

Language

The teaching language during Bachelor’s degree studies is German.
